The inspiration for Everyday Charlotte came from the old radio shows my dad cherished as a child.
He would eagerly wait for his favorite episodes to air, snuggling up with his mom and sisters to enjoy the story together. It was a magical experience that sparked joy and connection for him and many other children over the years.
My hope is to rekindle that same sense of wonder and family bonding, bringing a little bit of that timeless joy back for today’s families.
Each week, we will release a new episode of the story, with a new stave coming to life. Here’s what you can look forward to:
Stave One: Marley’s Ghost

Inspired by the teachings of Charlotte Mason and the belief that “education is a lifestyle,” Everyday Charlotte invites you to explore the world of classic literature, one chapter at a time.
In Beatrix Potter’s classic story, Mrs. Rabbit cautions her children—Flopsy, Mopsy, Cottontail, and the mischievous Peter—to steer clear of Mr. McGregor’s garden. While his sisters obey, Peter can’t resist temptation and sneaks under the gate to feast on vegetables. When Mr. McGregor spots him, Peter scrambles to escape, losing his tiny jacket and shoes in the process. Eventually, he returns home exhausted, only to be sent to bed by his mother with a dose of chamomile tea instead of the supper his well-behaved sisters enjoy.
Through Peter’s misadventures, the tale highlights the importance of listening to parental guidance and the consequences of disobedience—all wrapped up in a gentle, whimsical world that has charmed readers for generations.
