How to Play the Game

Materials Needed:

- A printed copy of the game instructions and story
Setup:
- Arrange the players in a circle.
- Place the wrapped gift in the hands of one of the players.
- Make sure everyone knows their right from their left.
Instructions:
- Print the game instructions and story, which includes the poem inspired by Clement Clarke Moore’s original “A Visit from St. Nicholas” and enhanced with illustrations by Arthur Rackham.
- Read the story aloud to the group.
- Every time the word “right” is mentioned, players must pass the gift to the right.
- Every time the word “left” is mentioned, players must pass the gift to the left.
- Continue passing the gift as the story is read.
- The person holding the gift at the end of the story gets to keep it.
